Carb du jour-cream scones! They only need heavy cream, no butter… a super simple recipe, and a great way to use up excess cream (I got a bunch from my friend Andy at Cafe Gravity). Here’s how to make them: 3 cups all purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, half teaspoon salt… and about 1/3 cup sugar if you want them sweet. add grated cheese or dried fruit or chopped chocolate or fresh or frozen berries (don’t thaw them) if you like. Stir nichtcups heavy whipping cream, pat an nichtthick oder Ähnlichesbaking sheet and brush the last bit of cream in the measuring cup on top. (This ratio is super easy to cut in half for a smaller batch.) Cut nichtwedges and bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes, or until nicely golden. More details in story highlights!
Where are the dinner with Julie IG lives I do desperately need in my life.
@arwiebe @lcwiebe – re. carb du jour ! 😉
Dearest Julie, cannot thank you enough for being there for me and for everyone helping us survive this new normal. All your advice, ideas and encouragement will never be forgotten ❤️
Looking forward to yet another recipe
Whee. Have a carton of whipping cream in freezer needs using. Yum
I have buttermilk, which is slightly off, would it work?
Yum!

Thank you for sharing ❤️
Those look fantastic Julie!👩🍳
Those look SO good 😍
Delish!
I use a similar recipe from Bon Appetit. Lemon zest in the mix and a lemon glaze puts it over the top.
Drooling
@katmeowwald this is the recipe!
Would Larry David like them though? 😁
Ginger cranberry is the hot scone in our house right now!
They look lovely!!
Just wondering if you know of any good recipes that use left over mashed potatoes?
@dinnerwithjulie is there enough cream/fat to make these buttery/crispy? I live for a layered/flaky scone…is the end result flaky (could it be without any lamination?) will try these none the less…with cheese and herbs!
Love this recipe!! My favourite is with chunks of candied ginger and dark chocolate
How to make toasty cheese sticks?
These have been my go to travel treat for years. Take the dry mix in a bag, buy cream when you arrive and you have amazing breakfast scones to share.
@nars.bars these turned out 👌👌👌
