#bakingsemifail

  • Maybe try toasting the wafer before filling and stacking it, it could help prevent absorbing moisture.

    peterpancakes_ February 7, 2020 2:22 am Reply
  • @peterpancakes_ excellent idea! I did try it, but after the fact, with some extra wafers I had. It didn’t seem to change the texture, but it may absorb moisture differently, as you so rightly suggested! 🙂

  • @zoebakes maybe brush the wafer with a thin coat of chocolate would help stop it absorbing moisture also when you’ve found the right wafer (ps it looks scrumptious) x

  • Oh no! That wafer should’ve been crisp as crisp can be. Hope you figure it out, because I’m itching to see this recipe and try it 😍

  • It looks delicious either way – but I’m sure another test is all you need!

  • Way too much chocolate on the wafer. Plus, the chocolate shouldn’t go all the way to the edge of the Oblatne.

  • Similar wafer we use in Ukraine if it is hard it is stale, a good should be soft and crispy and generally topped with a mixture of caramel, butter and nuts

    sincapfirin February 7, 2020 2:22 am Reply
  • @sincapfirin I wish I had a reliable source for the wafer. I’ve tried twice and both were stale. So sad!

  • 😫😫😫 that’s so sad, hope one day you will find a good one, this type of cake was a top one on the tables during celebrations
