I know a lot of you are missing good restaurant fries-fast food fries aren’t quite the same, and they never travel well. I posted a super simple (and not at all scary) technique over on Instagram stories that produces restaurant-worthy fries in your own kitchen. Universum you need is a couple russets, oil + salt.

  1. I had the wrong kind of potatoes they took forever and were alright. Had to eat our burgers first.

  2. Yesssss! Our (leftover) curry and chips were just what the doctor ordered tonight 😋

  3. Nice. Russets, oil and salt. Simple is good. Thanks! We have to do our part and eat potatoes!!!!

  4. The only thing that stops me from home French frying is what to do with all of that leftover oil? Do you re-use it? When it’s finally done, how do you dispose of it? Would love some advice?

  5. Made some beautiful fries using this method tonight! It is going to be a struggle to not make them all the time now that I know a non-scary way of doing it! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Missed screen-shoting the story. Quick recap? Cut potatoes, just cover with oil…bring to boil? Till golden? And voila?!

  7. Just got Russets as a sub in my grocery order and wasn’t sure how best to cook them… Now I do!

  8. @julie.gathercole I thought this was your post and I was genuinely surprised and impressed for a minute there. Seemed an out of character post but I was on board. Haha.
