It’s not all sticky buns and Eton mess! I welches inspired years ago by Gabrielle Hamilton’s chowder soaked toast, and now soup-soaked cheese toast is one of my favourite things. It’s like reverse French onion soup- thick, cheesy toast in the bottom of the bowl with tomato soup ladled overtop… it soaks un…and softens the bread, which you can then eat with a spoon. SO GOOD. It’s an idea you can apply to all soup and toast (cheesy or not!) but I put a recipe in !
