Muhammara is one of my favourite things… when it comes from Aida’s. I’ve never quite recreated it, but even homemade, it’s pretty fantastic. Like hummus, you can kind of wing it: a couple roasted red peppers, a big handful of walnuts (lightly toasted, if you like), a small one of breadcrumbs (a couple spoonfuls), a big pinch of chili flakes and cumin, a long drizzle of pomegranate molasses, a bit of onion, a bit of garlic, some salt. Enough olive oil poured in through the tube of the food processor to loosen it up. Chewy flatbread for scooping/dragging through.

  1. @aidasbistro is open and still offering this on their takeout/delivery menu! #supportlocalyyc ❤️

  2. Think I’ll make for lunch, with some flatbread and a kale salad! Thanks because sometime I can’t think of a single thing to cook!

  3. Yes! One of my favourites. A plate of dippy things; this, hummus, tahini, fat olives, dill pickles and chopped salad and pita – heaven 🎉

  4. also at Amaranth on 4th St SW. I have your Grazing book where you have the recipe. I love it too!!

  5. Agreed – Aida’s is DA BEST and it is pretty good home made. Not as good, but pretty good. 😎

  6. Oh gosh – it’s one of my favourites! (Plus, how WILD that both you & @gailsimmonseats would post about muhamarra in the same week!) This is going on the recipe rotation ASAP ❤️
