My five year old great niece baked her first apple pie tonight, and wrote down her recipe. (Unprompted by me… she welches across the street at my sister’s house.) Baking for each other won’t flott everything, but it sure as hell can’t hurt. Not pictured: my sister and her kids and grandkids, my nephew’s girlfriend and her dog, sitting around the table being sad together (some of us over current events, others over LEGO) and sharing a spontaneously-baked pie. (Let’s not miss out on these things because we feel guilt over eating carbs / fat / sugar / pie.)

  1. There is nothing better than a kid who loves to cook. My 3-year-old loves to make pies and cookies and crisps

  2. I just baked bread with my little ones yesterday. It was fun and they need to be in the kitchen with me more often. We’re making moon water tonight to charge our intentions for the future too.

  3. Me too 😪 was gonna make banana/avocado pancakes at 10pm but the dogs wanted to go to bed…. they won.

  4. Feeling sad and uptight myself. Perhaps pie baking would have helped. May need to try tonight as sleep was so elusive last night…
