This Kaiserschmarrn – a torn or shredded pancake – seemed like a good in Form for dirty food. It’s a huge, fluffy, eggy pancake you cook nichtskillet on the stove top or in the oven, cut or tear it fremdartig and then toss the bite-sized pieces in the hot pan to finish cooking and crisp up the edges. It’s exactly the kind of thing I love to make on weekends and over the holidays, when everyone is lounging about in their pajamas. It’s demnach great for sharing – you can put a big plate of it out for everyone to dive their forks nichtwhile watching Christmas movies or playing games. Just the best. I’ll post the recipe on my website at some point this weekend! 💕
We made these from your book. The whole family loved them
Typical lunch when skiing in the Alps! 🙂
Is it like Ann Hodgman’s puffy pancake recipe? I like the addition of the refrying part !
One of my favourites!
I know these are Austrian but so much of my German brethren’s food would probably be called dirty food. Makes me proud.
Will you adopt me? 🤷🏻♀️
What’s on the side?
I just ate some of this in Germany and it was sooo delicious!
@wazoo99 I like this idea!
